Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 工業設計系碩士班 === 101 === Majority of manual wheelchair users are elderly and physical disabilities. Most research of wheelchair is focus on patients rather than caregivers. Adverse design on push handle may cause the occupational injuries of caregivers. The purpose of this research is that improved angle of push handle with existing wheelchair. First, push and pull forces measurement on three forearm angles (-15 degrees, 0 degrees and 15 degrees), three upper arm angles (0 degrees, 45 degrees and 90 degrees), and four wrist angles (-30 degrees, 0 degrees, 45 degrees and 90 degrees). The thirty-six experimental conditions (3 x 3 x 4) are measured. The subjects are 15 men and 15 women, S-Load cell are be used in measurements. The diameter of the push handle is 30mm. According to the push/pull test results to design a new type of push handle and two appearance designs. Finally, improve push handles are installed to wheelchair, and subjective comfort questionnaire are be used with the original handles . The subjects are 6 men and 6 women(age=25.17, SD=1.01). The 6 items include: overall comfort, level surface, cornering, over sills and on the downhill. The results showed: (1) the greater push force be found in -15 degree of forearm with 90 degree of handle. (2) it is not conductive to pull in 15 degree of forearm with 90 degree upper arm. (3) the greatest pull force be found in 0 degree of forearm. The scores of improve handles are better than the original handles in the integrated comforableness and over sill comforableness. Both handles get lowest scores in over sills.
