Currently, the typical volume of the earthworks in the project was calculated in an experienced and simple equation for references of decision-making during handling process; however, judgment only through experiences may result in defective decision along with multiple times of handling and unnecessary cost waste or delay in the schedule. In view of this, the Study herein attempted to build scheduling model of earthmoving operation from RCPSP perspective to provide ways for the decision-maker to solve the issue incurred with the transportation planning and decision-making process effectively in addition to the problematic transportation route of earthworks and correspondent volume. As contrasted with only issues as to the balanced path in an excavation of the earthworks discussed in the typical studies in topic of handling in an earthwork historically, which could be deemed as an extended issue in the transportation, it, on the contrary, failed to solve problems incurred with decision-making in the practical allocation of resource in a project. This study, starting from the view of scheduling process of the earthworks, intended to use two-phased programming to have an in-depth discussion of the lowest transportation cost and the optimized resource allocation strategy under RCPSP environment applied in a single project of balanced earthworks, where Phase 1 tried to resolve volume of transported earthworks and routes and Phase 2 tried to resolve the shortest lead time in a project under dynamic scheduling structure and implementations in a variety of quantity of fleet. Indicated from the findings, two-phased model enabled to schedule the handling process in the earthworks, and then, integrate such model to discuss the integrated model and any difference presented in both ones; the integrated model not only enables to deal with the handling process in the earthworks and dynamic scheduling issues, but also enables to shorten project duration for any rush schedule and planning of the shortest duration in the scheduled work; indicated from the findings, the handling process of earthworks developed in the study herein enabled to have dynamic planning in the scheduled work against volume of resource and needs in a project, also can adjust the project duration against the needs of project for its application in the balanced work behind the earthworks in a construction site, which benefited the decision-maker by providing references of the handling process in the earthwork of the project and smoothening the whole project.
