The rescue and rebuilding of the house focused only on the wood structure of the building. Before the house was donated to Yuntech its owner performed the“Tui-Shen’’ ceremony on the panel. The religious painting on the panel was covered with red spray-paint as an important part of the “Tui-Shen’’ ritual. The painted panel is formed from three, thin wood boards joined by “tongue and groove”, and to make the panel stronger and protect it in future a corrugated plastic backing was added and frame constructed. On the painted surface the condition was one of uneven red spray-paint on the surface, and this overlay dust, excrement, insects, etc. Below the spray-paint the painted surface was cracked, powdering and there were lose and lost faint flakes. The author used animal glue as a adhesive material to consolidate the loose flakes and gesso to do fill areas of lost paint. After several tests the red spray-paint, was removed using a solvent gel containing acetone, water and Klucel G. The solvent gel was covered with Japanese mulberry paper or mylar film. The residual paint was removed by swabbing with acetone. Gordon Turner-Walker 泰納沃克 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 65 en_US
