In addition, this research explores the current challenges and future directions of the case firm. Following its establishment, this organization used its core technological resources and effective integration abilities to develop quickly a strong start and build a competitive advantageous position. Later on, it received many clients’ recognitions and became a market leader by means of differentiated operation strategies and innovative products. However, as the technologies of backlight module evolved, as well as the rapid changes of the market’s supply chain, the case firm has encountered serious challenges. It was expecting to overcome the market difficulties with superior technologies, creative products and applications of its core know-how to enter into other fields. Nevertheless, under the impacts of the market environment, the case company seems to lag behind the market’s path and its recent years’ effort hasn’t reached significant results. By studying its core competencies, competitive conditions, and the market trends, the current researcher intends to help the firm re-position itself, identify proper competitive strategies, and suggest strategic alternatives and business models for its future growth.
