| Summary: | 碩士 === 元智大學 === 社會暨政策科學學系 === 101 === The study is focus on the lived experiences from Taiwanese white collar male spouse point of view in transnational marriage .The study intends to realize the mate selection process, marriage procedures, married life adaptation, and family power relationship. The study derives from Mate Theories, Family Marriage, Family Power Structure and Multiculturalism discussion to context lived experiences.
The study is use interview as mainly research method. Twelve of the interviewees are Taiwanese white-collar male spouse view. Six of the interviewees are foreign spouse view who married Taiwanese husband. Two of the interviewees are from Public sector. During the period of time of the study, the researcher had further understanding for Taiwanese white-collar male spouse before marriage acquaintance process through multiple channels. Five factors, including personal values of marriage, mate preferences, relational, social network and rcumstantial were found to affect the marital decision during the mate selection processes.The study found marriage procedures that difference for transnational marriages of particular nationality who married Taiwanese husband.That through the complicated administrative procedures and verification of the authenticity of the interview to complete the marriage procedures. After marriage, the study found that Taiwanese male spouse play an important role of him spouse is able to adapt Taiwan's cultural life. Cultural exchange within the family, along with the acceptance of Taiwanese male spouse, and have different cultural agitation, or conversion.Four items including language, food, religion and concept of time discussion to cultural exchange. Part of the family power structure have there items including select the marital residence, the couple and their families of origin interact and adjustment between spouses, and adjustment between family and work.
The conclusion found that Taiwanese male spouse image had a new look .The image is no longer single. The study use male spouse point of varied view in transnational marriage for life experiences.
Finally, according to the study result to given four advices , including general public, the transnational marriage of family members , government organizati and future studies.
