Summary:博士 === 元智大學 === 電機工程學系 === 101 === The aim of this doctoral dissertation is to investigate the techniques of energy saving and carbon reduction in campus. First, the construction of a power-monitoring and energy-saving management system is used to completely handle the energy usage and consumption, analyze the history of power utilization, and adjust the contracted power capacity for reducing the basic charge due to the contracted power capacity, and the penalty bill with over the contracted power capacity. Moreover, the replacement of high-efficiency equipments and the promotion of manageable policies are used to improve the performance of the management system. The corresponding actions contain the load monitoring and unloading control for the large-sized ice-water main engine, the scheduled control for the school timetable, the application of electric time price, the program-controlled switch for lighting, the exchange of high-efficiency lamps, the fixed-time control for air conditioners, etc. In addition, the cooperation of novel research techniques including the intelligent load demand forecasting, the synchronous unloading control, the optimal power demand analyses, the policy design of user payment, the hybrid hot-water shower system, etc., with the power-monitoring and energy-saving management system can make the energy-saving effects to scale new heights. The effectiveness of the proposed energy-saving and carbon-reduction techniques can be verified by the experimental results in the campus of Yuan Ze University with twenty-three hectare area and 4.8MW contracted power capacity. From the experimental records, the energy saving rate in the whole campus is over 20%. The yearly cost saving of the oil consumption in the oil-burning boiler, the water usage, and the power bill are about 220, 200 and 1500 ten thousand TWD, respectively, in comparison with the total amount of energy expense in the previous year.
