Exploring the performance of muffler and design of the muffler internal structure. Use the material of sound-absorbing to reduce the high frequency noise; change the structure design to reduce the low frequency noise. After improved the design of muffler, the noise sources reduced to 76.5 dBA from 116 dBA. Building the model of muffler by software COMSOL, that can reduce the cost and time of experiment. Obtaining the performance of the different forms of muffler, and statistical analysis to optimize the design. The data use the analysis of variance (ANOVA) by software SPSS, that can obtain the larger impact design parameters for the performance of muffler. It can be the reference of design muffler in the future. Obtaining the S/N ratio and S/N ratio response chart. Finding out the optimized design of muffler from S/N ratio response chart.
