It is important to provide objective and accurate assessment approaches to one’s long-term physical activity level in mobility and fall event at home. Ambient Assisted Living refers to electronic environments that are sensitive and provide assistive propositions for maintaining an independent and self-respect lifestyle. For a successful scenario, the technology has to be unobtrusive and reliable. In collaboration with a professional cotton foam manufacturer, this research presents the development of a motion sensing carpet for the tele-monitoring of mobility, localization and fall events in an unobtrusive way for older and frail people in the home environment. This motion sensing carpet is a modular device, which can be assembled freely according to the home environment. The motion sensing carpet is in a “Body and Brain” system structure, which can be applied in not only home teleheath applications but also multiple interactive applications, such as physical interactive games, by developing different Apps on the intelligent mobile devices. A physical interactive game is developed in this research as an example. The results of the game can be shared on Facebook with other players to keep the player engaging in this game to reach purposes in exercise and rehabilitation.
