Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 中國文學系暨研究所 === 102 === A cat-mouse story originated from mouse hunting. For long, human beings had taken advantage of the biological traits of cats and mice, which resulted in cats become natural enemies of mice. In the pre-Qin period, the hostile relationship of these two animals was taken down. According to the literary work, a food chain of these two animals was adopted as a metaphor. Furthermore, cat was a main feature in folktale since the character “cat” had been widely used. Through the above discussion, cats and mice are animals which have been gradually given cultural and literature meanings. As a result, their mutuality and biological traits were brought into Sanxia Wuyi. The novel made use of the cultural symbol of cats and mice, also created a chivalrous model in history.
