description 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 犯罪防治研究所 === 102 === This study aims to examine teachers’ work pressure when dealing with students’ deviant behavior under the zero corporal punishment policy, and for research purposes, this study was conducted by questionnaires, using ‘Elementary School Teachers’ Awareness Scale of Students’Deviant Behavior’ as well as‘Elementary School Teachers' Work Stress Scale of Perception of Students ' Deviant Behavior’ designed by the researcher as research tools. The study objects were elementary school teachers in Chiayi County , and a total of 422 valid samples were collected. The survey data such as, the average, standard deviation, T tests and the statistical method, one-way ANOVA as well as the product-moment correlation were used to test research hypotheses. Results of the study are as follows: 1. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, the frequency of elementary students' deviant behavior is below the medium level. 2. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, the most common deviant behavior is elementary students’ interpersonal conflict. 3. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, male elementary school teachers are noticeably more aware of the frequency of students' deviant behavior than female teachers. 4.Under the zero corporal punishment policy, junior elementary school teachers are noticeably more aware of the frequency of students' deviant behavior than senior teachers. 5. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, elementary school teachers who also undertake administrative positions are noticeably more aware of the frequency of students' deviant behavior than homeroom teachers. 6. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, elementary school teachers holding the academic degrees of Teachers’School, Teachers’ Junior College and graduate schools are noticeably more aware of the frequency of students' deviant behavior than teachers holding the academic degrees of University of Education, Teachers’ College and normal universities. 7. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, elementary school teachers working in big schools are noticeably more aware of the frequency of students' deviant behavior than teachers in small schools. 8. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, elementary school teachers teaching 4th to 6th graders are noticeably more aware of the frequency of students' deviant behavior than teachers teaching 1st and 2nd graders. 9. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, male elementary school teachers’ work pressure of perception of students' deviant behavior is noticeably higher than female teachers. 10. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, junior elementary school teachers’ work pressure of perception of students' deviant behavior is noticeably higher than senior teachers. 11. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, elementary school homeroom teachers’ work pressure of perception of students' deviant behavior is noticeably higher than directors. 12. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, there is no significant difference of work pressure of perception of students' deviant behavior among elementary teachers with different ranks of academic degrees. 13. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, the work pressure of perception of students' deviant behavior of elementary school teachers in big schools are noticeably higher than teachers in small schools. 14. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, elementary school subject teachers’work pressure of perception of students' deviant behavior is noticeably higher than teachers teaching 1st and 2nd graders. 15. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, there is noticeably positive correlation between elementary school teachers’ awareness of the frequency of students' deviant behavior and the work pressure of perception of students' deviant behavior. 16. Under the zero corporal punishment policy, there is highly positive correlation between elementary school teachers’ awareness of the frequency of students' emotional deviant behavior and the work pressure of perception of students' emotional deviant behavior. Based on the above findings, suggestions were given to government education authorities, school teachers, parents, and future researches. Keywords: the zero corporal punishment policy, deviant behavior, teachers’ work pressure
