Participants include 960 teacher education students from universities that have teacher education program in Taiwan based on the method of stratified random sampling. Within 836 valid questionnaires are collected and the effective response rate is 89%. The received samples adopted frequency distribution and data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, One-Way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis. The conclusions were summarized as followed: 1.In the category of “popular culture”, teacher education students in Taiwan university got more scores in the trait of “internet using”. 2.In the category of “critical media literacy”, teacher education students in Taiwan university got more scores in the trait of “speculation on media”. 3.Among the background information on female, education and normal university, college students, and central district get higher score in popular culture performance. 4.The background information on education and normal university and graduate students both get higher score in critical media literacy. 5.The higher popular culture performance is, the better critical media literacy the students have at universities; but the higher idolatry and consumer behavior, the worse speculation on media the students have. 6.The popular culture performance can predict critical media literacy. a.Idolatry can predict speculation on media and analysis of media organizations. b.Internet using can predict critical media literacy, speculation on media, and reflections on the meaning of audience. c.Popular expression can predict reflections on the meaning of audience and analysis of media organizations. d.Consumer behavior can only predict speculation on media.
