With the content analysis method, this study compared three editions, Han-lin, Kang-xuan, and Nan-yi. Based on the competence indicators of Important Issues, this study analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively the distribution and differences of Important Issues in the three editions. The major findings of this study are summarized as follows: 1. Important Issues in the three editions are not equally distributed. In regard to the amount of lessons, Han-lin has the most of all. 2. Each edition places emphasis on different categories of Important Issues. 3. In regard to the distribution of competence indicators of Important Issues, Han-lin and Kang-xuan are quite similar, whereas Nan-yi shows the least indicators.
