Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 企業管理學系碩士班 === 102 === This study aimed to explore the status of the readers to use the library automation system, and utilize "self check/return machine", "reader age", "reader category" three indi-cators to clustering for library readers. This study expected to explore the extent of using automated system for each group, and the timeline for the segment to discuss the habits of various ethnic groups from the month, week, day points of view, and behavioral differenc-es among groups using library services, as operators in the library funding recommendations on use. In this study, data collected from 72 branch libraries of a southern library in 2012 to borrow transaction data (17,349,862 pen). Based on "self check/return machine", "reader age", "reader category" three indicators cluster analysis was utilized to clustering into four groups. The four groups are the semi-automated adolescent group (18.1%), highly auto-mated young group (20.1%), artificial group (34.2%), low degree of automation industrial and commercial group (27.6%). The results showed that most readers of the semi-automated adolescent group are young students, the degree of automation is the second; the highly automated young group has the highest degree of automation. The ages of 61.4% readers in this group are from 23 to 39 years old. Most readers of this group are students; the artificial group has the lowest level of automation. Their ages ranged from 40 to 49 years accounted for 50.8%; the low degree of automation industrial and commercial group has low degree of automation. Their age ranged 40 ~ 49 years old accounted for 73.2%, the majority of this group is industrial and commercial classes. The highest fre-quency groups to borrow books are "highly automated young group" and "semi-automated adolescent group". They are the main target for the library. Book drop service to the highest rates is Tuesday, concentrated in the morning from 8 to 9 hours. "Children books" in various groups is the second highest borrowing books. July and August is the peak of the annual use of library services. Web site usage is slightly higher than the afternoon service at night usage, at 1:00 am ~ 7:00 is the minimum frequency of daily use web service period.
