Reagent water, 50 % ethanol and 95 % ethanol were used to extract the active components of Hemerocallis. Total phenols and flavonoids content of the extract was determined, DPPH free radical scavenging activity and reducing power of Prussian blue were also tested. The results showed that water extraction efficiency of phenols was 42.9±3.9 mg GAE / 5 g Fulva which was the best among the three extracts. DPPH radical scavenging activity and reducing power Prussian Blue also showed the same results. But the total extracted flavonoids was 17.7±1.9 mg DC / 5 g Fulva for 50 % ethanol extract, the highest in three extracts. The water extract was added into the Hydrating Essence, whitening, hydrating and water loss and other functional indexes were tested. The results showed that the essence of Hemerocallis, The effect of moisturizing, whitening and water loss that the essence of Hemerocallis which was better than the blank essence.
