High prevalence of overweight and obesity increase health care costs in adult in Taiwan.
The reasons of obesity are closely related development of healthy behaviors and habits in adolescent.
Purpose:
To investigate the effects ofbody compositionsonhealthy behaviors and lifestylein adolescent.
Method:
237 10th-12th-gradestudents were recruited in Kaohsiung local area (126 male; 111 female) to investigate lifestyle modes (nutrition behavior, social support, health responsibility, life appreciation, exercise behavior, stress management),health behaviors (nutrition, psychological well, exercise, health responsibility) and detect body compositions.
Result:
1. Healthy behaviors: There was significant difference in "movement"mode (male: 21.54 points vs. female: 18.14 points, p= 0.04 <0.05) in lower body composition division.
2. Lifestyle: There were significant differences in " exercise behavior" (male 17.83 points vs. female 15.01 points, p= 0.03<0.05), "social support" (male 26.17 points vs.female29.63points, p= 0.04 <0.05) and "health responsibility" (male 24.57 points vs. female 26.32 points, p= 0.04 <0.05) modes in lower body compositiondivision.
3. Healthy behaviors correlated lifestylesignificantly.
Conclusions:
Healthy behavior and lifestyle are significant positive correlation. There are significant effects on lifestyle and health behaviors in different gender adolescent.gender adolescent.
