Description
Summary:碩士 === 中臺科技大學 === 醫療暨健康產業管理系碩士班 === 102 === According to foreign academic institutions, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) which is a behavioral study from branch of psychology programs is one of the most effective intervention methods to enhance the education of children with developmental delay. It is therefore the purpose of this study focus on the invention of measurement tools of ABA’s cognition and attitude in order to evaluate the knowledge of parents and therapists. The measurement tools were generated by relevant literatures. Study subjects were parents of children with developmental delay and their therapists from a regional teaching hospital in Taichung. The survey began after tools validity by experts and approved by IRB. We used factor analysis to construct dimensions of this study from the questionnaire. The cognitive dimensions were composed of "ABA cognition", "ABA training cognition" and "late developed children's cognition", and attitude’s dimensions were "ABA acceptance", "ABA using intention" and "ABA satisfaction." The reliability of each dimensions were examined by Cronbach's α tests with greater than 0.7, the overall reliability of Cronbach's α is 0.951. The results were analyzed by applying statistical software (SPSS version 18.0 for Windows) of descriptive and inferential statistics tests. The highest score to ABA cognition is children with developmental delay, and the lowest score is ABA training courses for parents. The highest score to ABA attitudes is the use of ABA intention, and the lowest score is the acceptance of ABA. By using Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal- Wallis tests, there are significant differences on careers of mother and education on using ABA intention. The genders of children are differences on ABA cognition, ABA training cognition, cognition of children with developmental delay, and ABA satisfaction. There are significant correlated among three dimensions of cognition and attitudes by Pearson’s correlation test. The highest score to ABA cognition is ABA knowledge, and the lowest score is ABA training courses for therapist. The highest score to ABA attitudes is the use of ABA intention, and the lowest score is the acceptance of ABA. By using Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal- Wallis tests, there is no significant difference to background information. Pearson’s correlation test showed that no significant correlation on dimensions of cognition and attitudes. When parents are higher cognition of ABA, their attitudes to ABA training intervention for children are higher. However, the therapists are higher cognition of ABA, but the attitudes to apply ABA training intervention are low. It is suggested to promote the cognition of ABA for parents and training courses for therapists to arrange appropriate early intervention approach in order to help more children with developmental delay.
