In this study,use the renewable water treatment tank of Liangshan Buildingin in Chung Yuan Christian University and four precision tubes for experiment,with bagasses and coconut shells for the biological treatment to remove ammonia in the wastewater. As well as,we used the ammonia removal rate、residual rate and the density setting in the treatment tank of these two materials as the design basis. To design a demand for filter weight and the filters add period similar the renewable water treatment in this study. According to the result of previous study to experiment for filter depletion rate and ammonia removal rate. The result of treatment tank, the density of the coconut shells in the two tanks are 47.4(kg/m3) and 37(kg/m3) The first month,we found the removal capacity are 280.9(mg/kg) and 350.0(mg/kg). The twelfth month,the removal rate are 74.2(%) and 76.5(%).The result of precision tubes,after one month,the hydraulic residence time is 1 hour,we found the removal capacity are 26~43(mg/kg),and the removal rate are 30~49(%) . Then, the hydraulic residence time is 2.5 hour,the ammonia concentration of sewage is between 10~13 ppm,we found the removal capacity are 59~67(mg/kg),and the removal rate are 32~70(%) . According to the result of the experiment,when the ammonia concentration of sewage is between 5~15ppm in the sewage treatment system. Setting the carbon biofilters is 37(kg/m3) by the ratio of bagasses and coconut shells is 1:1. In sixth month,add the coconut shells of 75% of original total weight. In twelfth month,add the coconrt shells of original total weight. Afterward,add the coconut shells of 75% of original total weight every twelve months once. This mode which setting carbon biofilters tank in water treatment system that can always maintained above 70% for ammonia removal rate after start one month.
