The study adopts the edited basketball referee emotional intelligence scale, job stress scale, and job satisfaction scale as tools, and selects research subjects from the national certified or international certified basketball referees employed in multiple basketball games during 2011 and 2013. The purposive sampling survey is adopted; a total of 260 surveys are issued; 225 copies of valid questionnaires copies are recovered, and the effective recovering ratio is 86%. The obtained questionnaire data is inspected with independent sample t test, one way ANOVA, and logistic regression and the following conclusions are achieved: overall, this study’s basketball referee’s emotional intelligence average score is 4.26 points. It’s a good performance. Job stress’s average score is 2.41 points. It’s a good grade. Job satisfaction’s average score is 3.96 scores. It’s a good performance. Different referee seniority, different level of certification, and different marital status, are shows the statistical significance with emotional intelligence. Different age, different referee seniority, different level of certification, and different marital status, are shows the statistical significance with job stress. But different background variables not reach statistical significance with job satisfaction. Emotional intelligence is negatively correlated with job stress and positively correlated with job satisfaction. Therefore, basketball referee’s emotional intelligence higher, than the job stress will less more, and the job satisfaction will higher. The dimension of emotional expression and self-evaluation of emotion can negatively affect job stress. In addition, these two dimensions would positively affect job satisfaction. Job stress and job satisfaction is negatively correlated. The dimension of professional knowledge stress can negatively affect job satisfaction.
