Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 工學院碩士在職專班 === 102 === The current study aimed to investigate elementary school teachers’ cognition and teaching scenario of marine education in Changhua County. In addition, differences of professional competence, teaching activities, and material utilization among teachers of different backgrounds were analyzed. The instrument was the “Inventory of Teaching Activities and Materials on Marine Education for Elementary School Teachers in Changhua County” designed by the researcher. The participants were elementary school teachers in Changhua County. A total of 369 copies out of the 390 questionnaires distributed in the current study were valid, with the successful returning rate of 94.6%. The results suggested that: 1. Most of the elementary school teachers had basic professional competence of marine education. 2. Elementary school teachers preferred lectures on marine education, and were unfamiliar with hands-on marine activities. The inaccessibility of relevant teaching materials led to teachers’ low willingness to design self-made materials. 3. Factors that influenced elementary school teachers’ professional competence of marine education included gender, positions, scale of the school, and hours of workshop participation in marine education for the previous two years. 4. Factors that influenced elementary school teachers’ teaching activities and material utilization on marine education included positions, location of the school, years of teaching, scale of the school, hours of workshop participation in marine education for the previous two years. 5. Teachers with much more professional competence of marine education were more positive towards the practice of marine education.
