Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 管理學院碩士在職專班 === 102 === This paper describes the relationships of music preference, emotion regulation, and loneliness among adolescents, and studies the mediation effect of emotion regulation between music preference and loneliness. The research was based on a questionnaire method. It concludes a short test of music preference, an emotion regulation questionnaire, and a loneliness scale. The subjects consisted of five senior high schools in Changhua County. A total of 568 students participated in this study. The findings suggest that: (1) music preferences of participants are widespread, the upbeat & conventional music is specially preferred; (2) using of reappraisal is higher than that of suppression; (3) the state of adolescent loneliness is at a low level; (4) music preference has a significant and positive correlation with emotion regulation; (5) loneliness has a significant and negative correlation with reappraisal, and has a significant and positive correlation with suppression; (6) loneliness has a significant and negative correlation with upbeat & conventional and energetic & rhythmic; (7) the mediating effect of reappraisal between music preference and loneliness is significant, and that of suppression is insignificant; (8) reappraisal completely mediate both the upbeat & conventional-loneliness and the energetic & rhythmic-loneliness relationships. It is suggested that future research could enlarge subjects including students in different environment areas, and explore the correlation between loneliness and different leisure activities.
