EPISTAR was established in 1996, they were became the first pitaxy factory of Taiwan after they merged with United Epitaxy Company in December, 2005 and also merged with South Epitaxy Corp and Epitech Co., Ltd in March, 2007. During the series of combination, no matter what the reason of the combination, EPISTAR has the good help and promotion for the market competition. Recently, EPISTAR also announced to merge the internal second epitaxy factory – HUGA, this horizontal integration not only reorganized the LED industrial structure, but also increased the industrial value and international competition ability for the company. This research analyzed the LED industry through the behavior of EPISTAR merged to HUGA and understanding the competition situation of LED industry in Taiwan, also found out the influence between the industrial worth and enterprise competitive advantage after the merger. After the interview, we realized that the combination can make the positive influence for the industrial worth, it not only increased the industrial value but also helping the company to got the competitive advantage. For example, promote the productivity allocation efficiency, increase the profit standard, reduce the cost expense due to the MOCVD machine purchasing, strengthen the negotiated price capability of upstream material and components purchase etc. All the reasons above can help the individual cases companies to promote the LED industrial position worldwide and in the Greater China.
