Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 機械與電腦輔助工程學系 === 102 === Chain and sprocket are extensively used in bicycle transmission system. Chain and sprocket transmission is recognized not so precise as gear transmission. Unlike gears have standard involute profile, the sprocket doesn&;#39;t have a standard profile. Commercial sprocket profiles are usually constructed by two or three segments of curves or a small segment of straight line included. Those sprocket profiles design may find in engineering handbooks. There are few researches on the chain and sprocket transmitting efficiency analysis. This research adopts chain roller envelop as sprocket profile. Using of chain roller envelop as sprocket profile make the profile tangent to the roller through whole contact journey. This would cause more smooth contact and should improve the efficiency of transmission. The sprocket profile from enveloping a chain roller is employed to develop a computer solid model of sprocket. The sprocket computer model is then imported into dynamic analysis software ADAMS® and integrated with a segment of chain model to analyze the dynamics of chain and sprocket transmission. The results show that the sprocket designed by this research may considerably reduce the contact force between sprocket and roller compared with commercial sprocket. Small contact force should reduce the friction and improve the transmitting efficiency.
