This was due to the impact of mix art in France where the French poetry influences paint art, and the element of visual art on French music. When the lyrics of the melodies are adapted from these poems, the melodies appear smooth and sound graceful. Emmanuel Chabrier, a French composer in the late 19th century and who was also a clerk in the ministry, was greatly inspired when he heard Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde. He later resigned from the ministry and devoted himself entirely to composition. Chabrier liked to use half notes, grace notes and rhythmic changing structures as his compositional devices to make his music dramatic and adorable. The thesis, based on Chabrier’s six mélodies: ‘L’île heureuse’, ‘Toutes les fleurs’, ‘ Villanelle des petits canards’, ‘Les Cigales’, ‘Ballade des gros dindons’ , ‘Pastorale des cochons roses’ was published in 1890 as studying theme to explore the relevant references of his life style and music styles as well as introducing the poet of lyrics, then further analysis and interpretation of the six mélodies.
