Furthermore, the study examines the variation of attention, mood and learning effect while listening to music. Two experiments were conducted and each experiment takes consecutive five days to complete. Six-one students with mild or moderate intellectual disabilities are invited to participate in the experiments. The study administers the Chu’s Attention Test to measure attention, and the International Positive and Negative Affect Schedule Short Form (I-PANAS-SF) to access the subjects’ mood. As for learning effect, we measure the variance of the score of the Chu’s Attention Test from consecutive five days. In this study, the effects of background music on attention, mood and learning effect are examined. The results showed that the environment with background music has positively influence attention for intellectual disabilities. It is found that background music can influence mood, especially when the environment without background music of PA and NA are higher than the environment with background music. Moreover, we found that the type of learning curve of the Chu’s attention test score is negative acceleration. In specific, the phenomenon of “plateaus” was found in the environment with background music. Dr. Rong-Hwa, Huang Dr. Leemen, Lee 黃榮華 博士 李禮孟 博士 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 73 zh-TW |
