Since most of active mutual funds fail to beat the TAIEX index, the replication of passive fund attracted the investors’ attention in recent years. In this paper, the performance of passive fund of Taiwan 50 ETF is compared with domestic active mutual funds. The results indicate that the performance of Taiwan 50 ETF fund is better than most active funds by descriptive statistics analysis, however, they are not statistically different in mean.
