The study objects comprised athletes from senior high school weight-lifting delegation and adopted the “Motives for Training Participation and Training Satisfaction in Senior High School Weight-Lifting Athletes.” Census survey was employed for the questionnaire survey with a total of 310 questionnaires issued while and questionnaires recovered, reaching a valid recovery of 95%. The data yielded from the actual survey underwent data analysis using SPSS for Windows 20.0: Descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe’s Post Hoc Test, and other statistical methods for data analysis. Findings of the study were concluded in the follows: 1. The majority of senior high school weight-lifting athletes consisted of 198 males with 96 females. Among the participating years, eighth and 9th graders accounted for the majority with mostly 2~3 years of seniority in training participation and 5 hours per weekly training session. In terms of personal performance, 115 athletes were ranked the top 8th place at county and city level. 2. Among the five factors of motives for training participation in senior high school weight-lifting athletes, “personal interests” accounted for the highest level while “academic factor” accounted for the lowest level. Among the 4 factors for training satisfaction, “coach instruction” accounted for the highest level” while “personal performance” accounted for the lowest level. 3. Among aspects of different background variables of motives for training participation and training satisfaction for senior high school weight-lifting athletes, the findings showed significant difference in “coach quality,” “academic factor,” “team relationship,” and “personal performance.” 4. There was significant correlation between motives for training participation and training satisfaction in senior high school weight-lifting athletes. The study revealed significant positive effect between motives for training participation and training satisfaction in athletes.
