Description
Summary:碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 應用心理學系碩士在職專班 === 102 === This study takes a quasi-experimental design and students feedback to investigate how application of forgiveness education to teaching, with a series of positive-psychology-based forgiveness courses toward 5th-graders, may enhance students’ forgiveness attitude and well-being. A thorough literature review has been done to have a better comprehension of forgiveness-related teaching activities as well as their relevance and effects. We then come to design two course topics, “Can forgiveness education improve students’ attitude of forgiveness?” and “Can forgiveness education enhance students’ well-being?” along with various teaching materials and suggestions from teachers instructing 5th or 6th graders, trying to enhance teaching efficiency. Meanwhile we study the effects of forgiveness education on students’ learning attitude through class observations, learning sheets and feedbacks to acquire students’ opinions about the teaching activities. The subjects in this study are from two 5th-grade classes in an elementary school in Miaoli County, The total 57 students are devided into two teams: one research team, including 27 students, and one controlled team, including 30 students. We conduct a pretest of Enright Forgiveness Inventory (EFI) and Children Well-Being Scale, and then we perform eight forgiveness classes to the experimental group. One week later, we collect data with class observation, research team feedback, learning and feedback sheets, pretest and post-test for analysis. The results indicate that enhancing 5th-graders’ well-being through positive-psychology-based forgiveness education is practicable, acceptable, and highly effective. While for the best effectiveness, the teachers should make some arrangements in teaching environment, duration of time, and presence status of students. And on the basis of the results and findings, we propose several suggestions for teachers’ improvement and further research.
