Description
Summary:碩士 === 弘光科技大學 === 化妝品科技研究所 === 102 === The present research work is divided into two parts of the investigation. The first part of this study is to determine the antioxidants ability of Seremban essential oil which includes total phenolic content (TPC), DPPH radical scavenging (DFRS), reducing power (RP), total antioxidant capacity (TEAC), ABTS+˙ radical scavenging (ABTS), metal chelating ability (MC), β-carotene bleaching assay (BCB), clearing hydroxyl radicals capacity (HR) and antimicrobial activities were examined on three bacterias (anti-bacterial): Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and two fungis (anti-fungal): Bacillus dander and Candida albicans, and the compositions of Seremban essential oil were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The experimental results exhibited that Nootkatone (33.35%), (+)-Ledene (6.52%) and Cedr-8-en-13-ol (5.40%) were the three main compounds of the essential oil. The major components of the essential oil were ketones (45.68%). The TPC was 62.32±0.09 μg of GAE/mg and TEAC was 1380 μM of Trolox/g. EC50 value of ABTS, chelating ability and DFRS were 1818.5 μg/mL, 381.93 μg/mL and 1991.46 μg/mL, respectively. 72.03% of RP relative to BHA at the concentration of 0.5 mg/meal was most significant and its EC50 value was 41.29 μg/mL. The antibacterial ability of Staphylococcus aureus was most significant. The Seremban essential oil showed excellent positive antioxidant activity and the mild antibacterial ability of gram-positive bacteria. The second part of this study is to investigate the inhibition ability in Pityrosporum ovale, whitening ability and to estimate the chemical composition of steam distillation Taiwan Incense Cedar essential oil. Results showed that the three main compounds of the essential oil were 1-Phenylethanol (43.56%), 6-(1-Methylethylidene)-bicyclo[3.1.0]hexane (9.19%), and Terpinolene (5.94%).The major component of the essential oil was alcohols (49.55%). The antimicrobial minimum inhibitory with a high degree of antimicrobial activity was achieved at the concentration of 7 mg/mL, and in the intracellular melanin content, and tyrosinase inhibition concentration-related and the extracellular tyrosinase inhibition effect were also most significant. The experimental results showed that Seremban and Taiwan Incense Cedar essential oil possessed the most effective antioxidant and antimicrobial abilities.
