Multi-rotor aerial vehicles can be used for land surveying. Moreover, they have the advantage of a quick take-off and landing capability and help the general public to reach the areas such as mountainous area, rivers and tall buildings, to record videos. In this research, we designed our own small flying vehicles by the computer- aided modelling and assembled components to validate the feasibility for better configuration of four-rotor type unmanned aerial vehicles. In addition to elaborate the key procedures for assembling the vehicles, we focused on the impact of vehicles’ payloads with their flight endurance. Meanwhile, we took into account environmental changes encountered during land surveying, so this study also tested the vehicle at different altitudes upon the relations of payloads with endurance time at different windward sides of the vehicles.
