Description
Summary:碩士 === 崑山科技大學 === 機械工程研究所 === 103 === Today’s cable television companies offer “triple play” service and provide a variety of interactive digital applications rather than audio-visual content only. In this open and competitive market, internet video service providers from all over the world have become the major competitors of cable companies. How to enhance competitiveness of these enterprises in such a tough environment will be the biggest challenge for cable TV service providers. This study explores how to incorporate a model of green management in digital cable television companies. Experimental zones can be set up to enhance overall business performance by improving corporate workflow, as well as lowering operating cost, manpower demand, and data transmission expenses. This study takes advantage of the interactive feature of digital cable television network transmission to increase the convenience and transparency in the communication between the service provider and its clients. Through the two-way communication interface of digital TV, the service provider can receive instant comments and suggestions from users to guide future improvements and make immediate remedies to meet users’ expectations. The trend of triple-play convergence has brought cable television into an era of overlapping the delivery of audio-visual contents with provision of customer service. In order to maintain a competitive edge and continuous, profitable growth amidst global competition, cable companies must consider adopting green management to boost their capacity of corporate mobility, decision making and adaptability; enhance competitiveness and rate of response to satisfy users’ needs; raise operating and work efficiency; reduce depletion of resources and maximize efficient allocation and utilization. Building up a green corporate image helps a company garner positive public recognition. The many advantages that green management offers could also ward off stagnation in business development due to lack of innovation or even shield itself from the negative impact of business decline, thereby making it possible for a company to achieve sustainable operation.
