Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 國際企業系碩士在職專班 === 102 === In recent years, GEPT tests have drawn much attention in Taiwan. Schools, teachers, students and their parents all hold a high value toward GEPT (The General English Proficiency Test), which have a great effect not only on the demand of the testson but also the demand of GEPT class in cram schools. Therefore, it's worthwhile to study the target clients, students' parents, and find out how they select a GEPT lesson for their children. The main idea of the paper is to study the motives and evaluative standards of the parents when they are selecting a GEPT lesson for their children. The study subjects are the parents of the students who have been in GEPT lessons or who are willing to join a GEPT lesson. The study applies several methods such as mean, standard deviation, and one-way ANOVA, to analyze the results of the questionnaire. There are five independent variables in the study: the number of children in the family, living situation of the children, family income, education background of the parents, and occupation of the parents. The study focuses on motivation and evaluation standard of the parents and takes them as dependent variables. The results show that the number of the children in the family causes a significant difference in parents’ motivation and evaluation standard as well. In addition, family income and education background of the parents also generate significant differences in parents’ motivation and evaluation standard.
