Therefore, this study attempted to explore the effects of intergrating cross-cultural communcation into English instruction on elementary school students’ English motivation. A class of 5th graders participated in this 17-week English experimental program. Five instruments were employed, consisting of a questionnaire of attitudes toward English learning, a questionnaire of attitudes toward intergrating cross-cultural communication into English instruction , interviews, activity sheets, and self-examination sheets. The results of the study showed that intergrating cross-cultural communication into English instruction could improve elementary school students’ English learning motivation and it was also positively accepted by the students. In the conclusion, some pedagogical implications are offered for future studies.
