The studies were 119 students of 4 classes from a complete high school in Changhua. They were divided into experimental group and control group to conduct quasi-experimental study. The experimental group, 60 students, had been implemented with STAD cooperative learning while the control group, 59 students, had been conducted with traditional teaching method for four weeks. The experimental instrument included “The biology achievement test” and “The scale of attitudes toward science”. The collected data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA and ANCOVA. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Biology achievements and attitudes toward science of the seven-grade high school students are significantly improved in STAD cooperative learning. 2.The result of the sexual comparison indicated that male and female students’ Biology achievements and attitudes toward science was not remarkably different. 3. The high-performance learners got better grades in The scale of attitudes toward science. 4. The low-performance Male students did better than female in the dimension of Science Value.
