Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 行銷學系所 === 102 === Along with the influence of the e-commerce and business outsourcing, the development of third-party logistics (3PLs) has been much matured and the service which is provided by the 3PLs has been much diversified in the last decade. Apparently, third-party logistics play an important role in the supply chain systems. After the financial tsunami in 2008, many strict financing problems have been torturing SMEs (small and medium enterprises). At the same time there are various supply chain financing facilities have been developed which help to alliviate the funding shortage for the SMEs. One of the supply chain financial solutions is advanced payment implemented by a 3PL company. This solution can reduce the operating risk of fund shortage for the suppliers and give retailers the trade credit. Most of all, the 3PL can increase the growth of profit. On the other hand, because of the integration of good flow, information flow and cash flow, the advanced payment makes the operation of the supply chain more efficient. The mathematical model of advanced payment is established to illustrate the profit model of a 3PL company. In each different situation, we can verify that an optimal advanced payment rate exists which maximizes the expected profit. This paper find the profit’s growth is based on the customer’s demand orientation. When the demand for the finance-added service is a linear function of the advanced payment rate, providing the novel financing facility can dramatically increase the 3PL’s profit. Moreover, the degree of change and correlation in the expected profit, the performance improvement, and optimal advanced payment rate can be demonstrated by a numerical experiment. In the future, the logistics companies can strengthen their competitive advantages by providing the value-added service of advanced payment and create much more financial channels for SMEs. Up to now, the research of supply chain finance is still in the emerging phase. Therefore, this study on the advanced payment model may provide a direction for the further research in the academic and practical fields.
