R.O.C Armed Forces faces deterrence of PRC’s “swift seizure” and “offensive operation on island city”. During the situation of not having critical assets, With low cost of sniper tactics and high effectiveness, Armed Forces are able to support counter landing operation, counter airborne or airassault operations as well as counterterrorist operation to ensure joint defensive operation a success Although high technology weaponary possess great power, we still rely heavily on precise marksmanship skills during close combat. From year of 2000, many countries such as U.S, Russia, U.K and Germany requested new sniper equipment frequently and spent more time on sniper training. Regardless of Chechen War and Iraq War, Sniper tactics were fully implemented to execute high effective and high difficuty missions. This can describe perfectly that sniper tactics not only will be there, but also plays an important role in great accomplishments during international conflicts. This report illustrates the participation of international sniper competition and training methods of R.O.C Army and foreign professionals. By analzing these data generally and conversation with the participants of international sniper competition, the viewpoints of sniper training are collected. The report mainly uses other examples and reviews all results to provide R.O.C Army an exmple of sniper force built-up and training.
