Information transfer between spaces’, interaction between people, and even the transportation’s distances are gradually getting smaller. Because of that, the individual can contact with more others. And the relationship are become more tightly and more complexity. Therefore it attracted the interest of the complex network research. Network analysis applied to various disciplines these years. Some scholars used it in urban networks recently. In the view of complex network, small world and scale free are regarded as a universal characteristic. Small world theory has thus become the mainstream of network sciences. It is derived from social networks, and the definition between node and its connection is the main point. But related researches of the urban network is only concentrate on physical transport network, and didn’t considerate of the urban morphology. It can’t reflect urban structure actually. Small world network partly demonstrate the current trend of urban development. Just with a view of network analysis to observe and discuss whether urban present a compact, low energy consumption, and high-efficiency pattern. And the relationship between land use and transportation can present such relation. To do this, this study intends to build a network to implement the connection of urban land use. To construct a network by defining residential land use and commercial land use as the node, trip as the edges. Finding the small world characteristics in urban network such as clustering and the shortcut, and discuss the network structure of the study area. Study area is former Kaohsiung city. From the result, we can see that Kaohsiung’s commercial land use is a little hard to defined it cluster-wide, and it doesn’t seems to have obvious small world characteristics. Though it present to have high clustering coefficient and short average path length, but with analyzing of power law distribution, we know that it doesn’t due to several short-cut but it well-connected network. Overall, with the perspective of urban land use network, it can provide a different view of discussion on urban morphology. Han-Liang Lin 林漢良 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 105 zh-TW
