The earth’s resources are limited and excess exploitation and use of fossil energy causes a great deal of carbon dioxide emission and the greenhouse effect, which results in severe climate change, air quality deterioration and other vicious cycle. Therefore, how to sustain our environment, conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions are necessary and urgent now. According to the international Energy Agency(IEA)statistical information, average global electricity consumption is 2651TWh a year. This is about 19 percent of the total electricity consumption, which is a large proportion. Much of the consumption is used improperly or wrongly and thus wastes the energy. On the other hand, in order to conserve energy effectively, lighting technology must be more advanced and improved. This paper discusses LED lighting dimmer. The dimmer using Arduino Microcontroller generates PWM(Pulse Width Modulation)method and an adjustable linear regulator constitutes a constant current circuit and a MOS switch. The design makes an LED lighting dimmer circuit. The actual test efficiency of the power supply circuit is . The LED lighting dimmer circuits help to reduce electricity consumption without lowering the quality of lighting. This dimmer is suitable for lighting in electronics factories, Fabs, offices and other indoor premises.
