Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 高階管理碩士在職專班(EMBA) === 102 === (1)Scope and Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors influencing cancer patients’ decision-making for da Vinci Robotic Surgery. (2)Methods: A structured questionnaire is distributed to patients who had undergone surgeries for colorectal or prostate cancer and is collected from their follow-up visits in hospital. The questionnaire contains variables related to three dimensions with basic demographic data. Descriptive statistical analysis is performed and creates a linear probability model to determine the factors affecting cancer patients’ decision-making for surgeries. (3)Results: A total of 94 patients were enrolled for analysis. There are 40 patients (42.6%) choosing da Vinci surgery; most of patients (94.7%) had annual household income less than 1 million. The results show: “professional experience and reputation of the surgical team” and “short recovery time and hospital stays” are the most affecting factors, while other variables do not show statistically significant difference. (4)Conclusions: (1) The consideration to introduce high technologic medical equipment should meet the needs of patients rather than to compete with other hospitals; (2) Enhancing the professional capability and experience of the surgical team and improving the quality of postoperative recovery are the most effective marketing strategies.
