The objective of this thesis is to extend the framework by adding the network feature, and we focus on energy saving. We propose and implement an energy-efficient network “Virtual Socket”. It uses Google Cloud Messaging to achieve pushing notification from server. It also has fault tolerance to an unstable mobile network and compatible to Java Socket for making implementation easier.
