Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 地理學系 === 102 === Lukang has developed more than 300 years from Qing Dynasty. Heritage buildings are preserved by urban development plans. Yao Lin street and Pu Tou street are included in the first phase of the project of preservation area and rebuild in 1986, finished in 1991. Lukang preservation area has become a focus of Lukang’s tourism development now, but the negative impact by the tourists has become the problem at the same time. Today, we want to know whether the residents who live in the Lukang’s preservation area consider heritage preservation and tourism development are good or not. In this study, we use In-depth interview, and visit local residents, local development associations, government agencies and experts. To discuss about how the residents who live in the Lukang’s preservation area consider heritage preservation and tourism development. Finally we found the heritage preservation cognition of residents needs to be strengthened, but they have got used to tourism development as a part of the life. Then they consider heritage preservation and tourism development are the ways to sustainable development.
