| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 地理學系 === 102 === The study used the principle of geography and relevant research methods to investigate the number of facilities and the distance between the facilities and the surrounding universities and colleges in Taichung. Twelve colleges and universities were studied, and they are Chung Shan Medical University, China Medical University, National Chung Hsing University, Tunghai University, Feng Chia University, National Taichung University of Science and Technology, National Taichung University of Education, National Taichung University of Science and Technology (Minsheng Campus), National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sport, Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Overseas Chinese University, and Ling Tung University. The aim is to expand the scope of geographic-oriented environmental research and to provide useful information for universities and colleges to enhance the convenience of campus life.
The study used buffer analysis of ArcGIS to obtain the number of facilities in a university or college neighborhood, and then geographical field work is used to compute the number of food related stores and shops. The investigator chose six dimensions as the indicator, and they are restaurants (breakfast shops, restaurants, beverage shops, and fast food restaurants), shopping (convenient stores, supermarkets, hypermarkets, and department stores), transportation (bus), medical services (clinics and hospitals), recreation and entertainment (parks, book stores, and cinemas), and community services (post offices). These dimensions were used to assess the relative level of convenience of the above-mentioned universities and colleges.
National Taichung University of Science and Technology, National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sport, and Feng Chia University are schools located in a very convenient living environment. National Chung Hsing University, National Taichung University of Science and Technology (Minsheng Campus), Tunghai University, Ling Tung University, National Taichung University of Education, and China Medical University are located in a quite convenient living environment. Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Overseas Chinese University, and Chung Shan Medical University are in a less convenient living environment.
