Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 教育研究所 === 102 ===   The main purpose of this study was to explore Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School students’ leisure motivation and leisure participation . Stratified random sampling and the survey method were used in this study. A total of 1106 students from six different grades responded to a set of instruments, including personal information, leisure motivation and leisure participation scales. The survey data were analyzed by descriptive statistic, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regressions. The findings of this study are as follows: 1. Students’ overall leisure motivations are at above moderate level; students’ intrinsic leisure motivation is greater than their extrinsic leisure motivation. Students’ overall leisure participations are still at unsatisfactory level. Their favourite leisure participation is the recreation item. 2. There are existed significant differences within the genders of secondary school students’ extrinsic leisure motivation. With regards to the gender differences, male students are greater than female students. There are existed significant differences within the grades of secondary school students’ extrinsic and intrinsic leisure motivations. With regards to grade differences, senior two students are greater than junior three students in extrinsic leisure motivation, but senior three students are greater than junior one students in intrinsic leisure motivation. 3. There are existed significant differences with the genders, grades and parents’ socioeconomic status of secondary school students’ leisure participation. With regard to the gender differences, male students participate significantly more often than female students in physical leisure activities; female students participate significantly more often than male students in intellectual and artistic leisure activities. With regard to the grade differences, lower graders participate significantly more often than upper graders in leisure activities. With regard to the parents’ socioeconomic status, parents with higher socioeconomic status participate significantly more often than parents with lower socioeconomic status in leisure activities. 4. Students’ leisure motivation can positively predict leisure participation.   Finally, some suggestions have been proposed according to the results for the reference of the schools, parents, and subsequent researchers.
