Depending on convenience of consumer application, it is a better touch technology than the resistive touch panel. However, it has a disadvantage of necessary to sense with your fingers or a conductor. In a cold weather, removing the gloves with touch input is not convenient, especially for countries in high latitude. When we can use our hands on a capacitive touch panel, picking a non-conductor material (capacitive pen is unnecessary) draws on this panel at the same time. This kind of touch panel will include more convenient and user friendly. According to these ideas, we develop a new capacitive touch panel structure with finger and force sensing. In contrast to the resistive touch panel, it includes multi touch and high reliability. From my experiment, the thickness and material of control layer is designed. Using standard touch controller IC can detect the capacitance variation of force input and finger approach.
