The research is conducted by questionnaires including Parental Resilience Questionnaire, Family Support scale, and Parenting Stress scale. The data is collected from 318 family caregivers of disabled children. The major findings are listed as follows: 1. Caregivers with low parental resilience tend to have negative thinking. Caregivers who were provided less family support that need others to take care of them. What the caregivers with high pressure most worry about are their children who learned slower and worse. 2. The results indicated that either the background of caregiver (i.e., gender, education) or the background of children (i.e., grade and the degree of disorder) did not have significant difference on parenting stress, but work status did. Caregivers without job had higher parenting stress in parental distress, dysfunctional parent-child interaction and difficult child than caregivers of full-time job. Caregivers of part-time job had higher parenting stress in dysfunctional parent-child interaction than caregivers of full-time job. 3. The associations among factors in family support and parental resilience were significantly positive related, the most correlation existed among emotional support and positive thinking in parental resilience.Moreover, associations among factors in family support and parenting stress were significantly negatively related, the most negative correlation existed among emotional support and parental distress in parenting stress.Furthermore, the results also indicated that the associations among factors in parental resilience and parenting stress were also significantly negatively correlated, the most negative correlation existed among parental resilience and dysfunctional parent-child interaction in parenting stress. 4. The multiple regression results indicated that the variables (i.e., parental resilience, informational support, material support, emotional support) contributed to 22 percent variance of parenting stress. The majority of variances can be predicted by “facing frankly” and “emotional support”.
