Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 幼兒教育學系研究所 === 102 === The aim of the research is to explore the current status of personality traits, leadership styles of preschool principles, and the preschools’ climate in Chia-Yi County. The research also intends to understand the variance and the correlation for variables of different backgrounds in personality traits, leadership style and preschool organizational climate. To achieve the objective, the research takes four hundred and two public and private preschool teachers in Chia-Yi County as sampling. The subjects are administered according to the Personality Trait Scale, Leadership Style Scale, and the Preschool Climate Scale. The descriptive statistics, t test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation, and multiple regression are used for the data analysis. The findings of the research are as follows. 1. The personality traits of preschool principles in Chia-Yi County tend towards conscientiousness, the leadership styles tend towards initiating structure, and the preschools’ climate tend towards authoritarian of principles and united of teachers. 2. The personality traits and leadership styles of principles’ show significantly differences based on the type of preschool, and director’s academic background. Nevertheless, it indicates there are no significant differences based on principles’ gender. 3. Preschools’ climate exhibit significantly differences based on the type of the preschhol, also with the gender and academic background of principles. 4. There is a highly positive correlation between personality traits, leadership styles of principles and the preschools’ climate. 5. The personality traits and leadership styles of principles can have predictability towards preschools’ climate.
