And we want to explane the relationship among their personality traits, perceived paternal involvement and well-being through various background variables (sex, grade, family type, socioeconomic status). This research used the investigation method of the questionnaire, and obtain the study samples by stratified cluster-sampling. The study of the population were the fifth and sixth grade elementary school students of Chiayi City, and the study insruments include "Well-being Scale", "Personality Traits Scale" and "Perception of Paternal Involvement Scale", sending out about 484 questionnaires, and 445 valid questionnaires were received finally. And all the data using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis in SPSS statistic software. The main findings of this study were as follows: 1. The Personality Traits, Well-being, and the Perception of Paternal Involvement of the high grade elementary school students were above average. 2. Different grades of high grade elementary school students showed significant difference in well-being, and the fifth grade students' “Overall Well-being" and its four levels were better than sixth grade students. 3. The boys in "Self-affirmation" and "Life Experience" were better than girls; and the girls in "Interpersonal Harmony", "Life Satisfaction" and "Overall Well-being" were better than boys. 4. Different family patterns of high grade elementary school students showed significant difference in well-being, and the typical family in "Overall well-being" and its four levels were better than the atypical family. 5. Different socioeconomic status of high grade elementary school students showed significant difference in well-being, the higher socioeconomic status, the higher its well-being. 6. The "Extraversion", "Agreeableness", "Openness to experience" and "Conscientiousness" of personality traits, showed significant positive correlation between well-being. The “Neuroticism" and showed significant negative correlation with well-being. 7. The “Overall Perception of Paternal Involvement" and its five levels of the high grade elementary school students were showed significant positive correlation with well-being. 8. The personality traits, perception of paternal involvement of the high grade elementary school students can effectively predict well-being (total predictive power of 60%). Finally, based on the results of this study, to discuss and make recommendations for parents, school teachers, family-educators and future research or reference education counseling.
