| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 觀光暨休閒遊憩學系 === 102 === Volunteer tourism is different to mass tourism, and it becomes increasingly popular. Therefore, this study explored mainly the motivation and personal experience through the process of the volunteer participation in Lanyu. This study used semi-structural depth interviews. Researcher will adopt snowball to find about 10 respondents who went to Lanyu within five years as a teaching volunteer tourist during the summer vacation.
It was found that volunteer tourists learned how to adjust the teaching and understood the style of personal teaching. Volunteer tourists established the friendship each other through living and working together. Moreover, through the local residents and students, volunteer tourists understood the local culture, experienced the deeper tourism and thought the impact of the Han culture and tourism activities to the local community. In addition to, volunteer tourists thought what they played the role and what impact to the community through the activities. Even some volunteer tourists changed their planning of life.
Finally, according to the results, the researcher provides some suggestions to the organization of Hope School in National Dong Hwa University.
