The United Nations and UNICEF research, people with disabilities as long as they need education or service, after which can live independently and reduce health care costs. But not only just to give education and services, but the youths with disabilities can successfully enter the lives common people, or to adapt to society, it is what I would like to explore. Objective: To investigate the social adaptation of students with disabilities and what factors affect social adaptation in students with disabilities, whereby students with disabilities can learn to adapt to the society of individuals, families, school problems. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional study. Students with disabilities in junior high school and senior high school in 2011, include their parents and teachers. Questions about gender, grade, family and school-related problems, relationship problems, young people with disabilities related to mental health and self-determination, etc. And parents and teachers to link student questionnaire survey, three-pronged approach to observe and adapt to the physical and mental state of young people's situation. Results: Students with disabilities to adapt to the situation according to their social class are also different obstacles, adaptive behavior of the worst performing of mental retardation, physical barriers is the best, but it is similar to the olders have better social adaptation will increase. Female student adaption ability is better than male students. More intimate with the family who will indeed result in students with disabilities to adapt to the situation. Have better interpersonal relationship students will have more high adaptive behavior. While the age and degree is older, self-determination scores also increased and therefore have better social adaptability. Conclusion: This study can clearly understand the different categories of disabilities, the factors that affect their social adaptation is different. And this research would help for their education, treatment or training in planning. Teenagers will enter the stage of social how to reduce the pressure of its own and the family, promote the integration of persons with disabilities and participate public is the most important.
