Summary:碩士 === 國防大學 === 戰略研究所 === 102 === Abstract Since the end of the Cold War, the complexity of the South China Sea dispute is growing with the passing days. The United States puts her focus on Asia, and takes East Asia as the entry point to return to the Asia-Pacific, this region is the key of whether the PRC Navy could enter the Pacific across the second island chain, to compete with the United States. Therefore, in this article I’m going to discuss the strategic implications of the PRC deployed Marines on the South China Sea in Navy’s Western Pacific strategy, from the shift of the PRC Navy strategy after The Economic Reform. And analysis the PRC Marines’ function and strategic mission in South China Sea after vehicle renew and amphibious capability upgrade, in order to predict future trends. Studies shows that PRC naval strategy is transforming from "inshore defense" to the "regional ocean going Navy", also amphibious vehicles has been substantially modernized, from those increasing Marine Corps amphibious exercises, we can inferences that the PLA is developing three-dimensional combat capability .
