In this research, the potential passengers of Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit are investigated. After defined the potential passengers, a total of 401 valid questionnaires are received out of 524 questionnaires. The Rasch model is employed to analyze the mode selection behavior of potential passengers. Additionally, the cluster analysis is used to classify the potential customers and more detailed discussions are provided for each classification. The result indicates the main reason that potential passengers are unwilling to take the MRT is because of the long waiting time of the shuttle bus.
